Beetle found on Asparagus Plant - Crioceris asparagi - Male Female
Brantford, Brant, Ontario, Canada

Size: 3/8"
Found these on my asparagus plants, mating. Wondering what variety these are and whether they will be beneficial or invasive in my orchard.

Moved from Beetles.

Common Asparagus Beetle
These are Crioceris asparagi, common asparagus beetles. They do feed on asparagus foliage and are considered a pest in commercial asparagus production. They don't feed on other plant species so far as I know.
