Rove beetle unidentified

Rove beetle unidentified
paso robles, CA, san luis obispo County, California, USA
September 2, 2007
Size: 4mm
I went to the Bohart Museum in UC Davis, CA to make some specimens comparisons with my insect collection. When I got to the rove beetle collection, I was left in awe by the massive scale of this order. So I didn't even try to find a match. Does anyone have an idea when this might be?

Cheers!

Moved
Moved from Aleocharinae.

Please . . .
always move images to the page that corresponds with the ID (subfamily, in this case)! [I found it among "Coleoptera"]

Falagria sp. maybe
As Jim commented, lighting is a problem. Not many Aleocharines have a longitudinal sulcus on the pronotum.

Better lighting might reveal important details.
Your camera must have a pop-up flash. You could devise a flash diffuser from a polyethylene bottle or jug or a styrofoam dish to help get more light on the subject.
