Paragus? - Paragus haemorrhous

Paragus? - Paragus haemorrhous
Aromas, San Benito County, California, USA
October 23, 2007
Size: ~5mm.
I'm reasonably sure this is Paragus, same as . It was on Argyranthemum frutescens. I finally got a decent shot of it. (live oak/chaparral habitat).

Moved
Moved from Paragus.

Yes, Paragus
They're very hard to shoot, due to size and infrequent landing. Nice pose on yours; often abdomen is curved below. Reddish color is most common here, but some are sort of dark golden metallic all over. (You'll probably run into them too.)

Thanks Ron
I'll move it to the appropriate page. He was very wary, he landed and took off several times before I could get a decent shot. Another Paragus landed next to him and there was a brief altercation. He was patrolling around the plant, challenging all comers.
