Eugonobapta nivosaria - Castalian Springs, Sumner County, Tennessee, USA June 12, 2018
The photo includes the adult female with ova deposited 06/12/18. Love the similarity of the moth egg to the Monarch butterfly egg, which of course is barrel-shaped. I find the coloration (or lack thereof) and the "ridges" to look similar. The square shape of the moth egg is intriguing. Will monitor closely for changes/hatching. Will attempt to find food source if a successful hatch. I see where another user, (jim sogaard), found an instar on Thalictrum dasycarpum. I am not aware of that food source in my area but will check.
