black insect(s) with white-spotted black wings - Nigronia serricornis - Male Female
Moreau, Saratoga County, New York, USA
June 17, 2018
Size: about 2 inches long
I saw what looked like a 4-winged black insect flopping about a sandy path. It wasn't until I looked at my photo I saw that this could be either two insects (one on top of the other) or one emerging in molt from the paler one beneath. Or could it be male and female copulating?

Nigronia serricornis
Are these two Nigronias, male mating with female?

Looks like that to me
:)
