Spider with red on legs - Araneus

Spider with red on legs - Araneus
New Bern, Craven County, North Carolina, USA
July 6, 2007
This spider dropped down on a single strand of silk and then climbed back up. I only need an ID for my own records. Any help?

Araneus nashoba ?
Well it looks like only nashoba and gadus have red ringed legs. Gadus is only ringed on the female, so that leaves nashoba for this specimen. John B. - See page 534 of Levi.

An
adult male Araneus. There is a good amount of 'little, green' species, not sure which one.
