Mint Muncher - Naupactus leucoloma

Mint Muncher - Naupactus leucoloma
Desoto, Dallas County, Texas, USA
June 19, 2018
Size: 12mm
A new arrival in my handkerchief-size garden. Naupactus? I found three of them on mint within a few feet of each other. Pretty sure Mom had been a previous unseen visitor! [Edit: Two weeks later and I've pinched about 20 of them -- they seem to have no particular preferences for food: Mint, Sage, Salvia, Mistflower, Rudbeckia.... Ordinarily I let nature take its course and leave them alone but my little garden patch is so small and they take BIG bites! I've been afraid that if I didn't practice some form of control that they will be unstoppable next year -- especially since the Fact Sheet link on the Info page says they are adventive, parthenogenetic and flightless!]
