Wasp / Moth? - Ceraturgus elizabethae

Wasp / Moth? - Ceraturgus elizabethae
Bullitt County, Kentucky, USA
June 6, 2018
Evidently this Ceraturgus Robber Fly is somewhat rare and where it was found may be of some interest so I am posting the uncropped picture that shows its habitat. The weedy mixed grass and clover that passes for our lawn is at the top of a ridge surrounded by mixed hardwood forest. It was an inch or two off the ground possibly hunting for prey on the ground.
