5890 – Adelphia petrella ? - Adelphia petrella

5890 – Adelphia petrella ? - Adelphia petrella
Schulenburg, Texas, Fayette County, Texas, USA
June 21, 2018
Size: apx. 10mm WL
Markings do not all jive, but this was the only species I could find with fully tuffted, recurved palps that should be in this area and had a rather undefined AM band. Look seems to change with the light. Wingspan may also be a little small and the hind wings look a little dark for it.

I also considered 5820 – Stylopalpia scobiella but it does not appear to have an AM band.

6/25/18 Valerie Bugh agreed with Adelphia petrella.

8.27.2021 - Steve Nanz commented on the second image that this specimen can be seen at BOLD in the Public Database at TXLEP732-19. See his comments. I will be dissecting it and posting the images here.
