Xanthotype - female

Xanthotype - Female
Brownsville, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, USA
June 15, 2018
Size: WS: 2 in (5 cm) or more
Based on what I've read online I believe this to be either Xanthotype sospeta or Xanthotype urticaria, and that disection would be required for an accurate ID. It appears that neither species has been recorded in Fayette County. I also have photos of some relatively large Geometridae caterpillars from the same location, not sure at this point if those are any easier to identify to species level or not.

Moved
The two species may be one according to a non published paper.
The group needs revision. Wide spread and is expected to be present in your county. Genus level is best for now

Moved from ID Request.
