Freshwater Isopod Maybe ? - Porcellio N47° 37' 38.56" W52° 40' 5.90" Logy Bay, Northeast Avalon, Newfoundland/Labrador, Canada June 26, 2018 Size: 7 mm body length
I'm wondering if this is a freshwater isopod or a terrestrial one. It looks very similar to some terrestrial ones that I've seen but I'm thinking it might be a freshwater species because of where I found it. I found it by dipping a plastic jar into the water of a bog hole. While I was taking the photos, the isopod was underwater and crawling along the bottom of the container. I guess it's possible that a terrestrial species somehow fell into the bog hole water where I found it but that seems rather unlikely to me. Can anyone verify if this is a freshwater species or not? Thanks.
