Epicauta bispinosa - male

Epicauta bispinosa - Male
Mouth of Alejandro Canyon, JE Canyon Ranch, Las Animas County, Colorado, USA
June 9, 2018
Two straight spines on the foretibia can be clearly seen in one image. This narrows ID down to E bispinosa, E oregona, and E punctipennis. The maxillary palpi shape is c/w this species, not punctipennis. Vestiture not reduced as in oregona. (see Journal Kansas Entomological Society 48:429-452 and JP Schmidt (2008) Blister Beetles (Meloidae) of Colorado, #7 in series: Insects of Western North America, published by CSU.
