Glossonotus crataegi possibly? - Glossonotus crataegi

Glossonotus crataegi possibly? - Glossonotus crataegi
Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, USA
June 28, 2018
Size: ~8 mm
Found the night before near a spotlight on the grounds of the state capitol building in downtown Indianapolis. I could not find any images of any species that looked exactly like this individual. The black and red coloring on top and back, and the whitish green face and side patch, are consistent with the G. crataegi images. However, the dorsal stripe on this specimen is very similar to that of G. univittatus. I sure hope there is a treehopper expert that can help with this one. I still have the specimen in my refrigerator and will try to get a couple more good daylight photos before releasing it tomorrow.
