Mayfly large - Hexagenia limbata

Mayfly large - Hexagenia limbata
Chilton County, Alabama, USA
June 28, 2018
This was a yellow mayfly type bug, only the largest I've ever seen. His length was about 3 cm. His legs were mostly yellow with some brown striping. His eyes were huge and were yellow on top, white in the middle with a dark brown dot in the white, and dark brown on the bottom. I counted nine abdominal segments which were light brown with yellow divisions. His wings were translucent and darker along the costal margins. His tail was forked and extended another 2-3 cm.
