Bee species - Bombus appositus

Bee species - Bombus appositus
Paynesville, Alpine County, California, USA
June 29, 2018
Size: 3/4 inch + or -
I parked on a dirt land north of Diamond Valley Road, east of Paynesville, and observed a different type of bee (3/4 inch maybe) than the larger bees (1 inch maybe) that were visiting Sweet Pea plants. The color tones were light rusty versus the black and blond color tones of the larger bees.
