Carabid - Stenolophus fuliginosus

Carabid - Stenolophus fuliginosus
Plum Island, Essex County, Massachusetts, USA
October 31, 2007
Size: 7mm

Stenolophus fuliginosus, not "fulginosus"
-- a typo correction.

Moved
Moved from Seedcorn Beetles.

Stenolophus fuliginosus
separated from similar Stenolophus ochropezus by distinctly dark femora and palpi, also more robust pronotum.

Thanks Peter
After a while all these Carabids start looking alike:-)

...and for me all these Carabids are starting to look different.
- ditto smiley face. Happy to help out.

Boris, that looks like a good place to start.

Steno*lophus???
Not halfway sure . . .

Looks like Plum Island
has become a regular stomping ground for you, Tom.

The seashore is warmer,
and I'm finding different things there.

Wish I could be visiting there more as well.
I enjoyed exploring the new (for me) habitat at Odiorne State Park during the 2007 All-Taxa BioBlitz in September. I have one specimen from there that's still living.

However, I've been getting beetles that are out-and-about practically every day inland.
