European Mantids Mating - Mantis religiosa - Male Female
Foothills Trail, Pierce County, Washington, USA

I was walking along the Foothills Trail between Sumner and Puyallup and kept seeing mantid egg cases. I was thrilled to find three mantids on the back of someone's shed. I watched for around 20 min. and the male carefully made his way over to mate with one of the females.
