Noe Valley, San Francisco County, California, USA

Size: 2 mm
I found another one of these pupae (?) attached to a building wall. Same location and must be the same as the thumbnail below - this time I collected this one in the hopes that something might eclose??

Moved
Moved from ID Request.

Hatched beetle appears to be this species, which I've photographed at this precise location several times before.

Certainly Rhyzobius
The photographed adult is still teneral, so the full extent of its dark colouration is not yet apparent.
