caterpillar - Cecrita guttivitta

caterpillar - Cecrita guttivitta
Merrimack, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
July 3, 2018
Size: ~10mm
Found dangling from silk on a Norway maple. I am hoping to rear it, and so I'd like to figure out what species it is so I can provide for it. I am guessing it is a prominent of some sort?
Photos were taken in poor light but I wanted to get something up as soon as possible to start working on an ID.
The caterpillar has two tail-like appendages (these might just be prolegs that it holds outwards?) and two horns behind the head. Very small, must be an early instar.

UPDATE: After only a day and a half, the caterpillar died, of unknown causes. It barely ate, apart from a bit of oak. I am grateful to have taken photos when I did, though.

Heterocampa guttivitta cat…
Suggested based on this fourth or fifth instar showing a multicolored stripe on each side of the head and the median red saddle on the back. They also have a preference for several species of maple.

See reference here.

Thank you!
And good to see they're generalists too.
