Brown tachyporine - Sepedophilus testaceus

Brown tachyporine - Sepedophilus testaceus
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
October 28, 2007
Size: about 4.2 mm
I have never been inside the nearby state-run liquor store but I did park there last Sunday to investigate a rather trashed-up strip of woods behind it where I found this little tachyporine rove beetle under the bark of a log in advanced rot stage.

Moved
Moved from Tachyporinae.

A Sepedophilus
it is.

I thought so :-)
Thanks, Boris. I was a little unsure because this one walked around slowly investigating things whereas most I've found have been speed demons, racing around inside the container.
