Morning Visitor - Eacles imperialis

Morning Visitor - Eacles imperialis
Franklin, NC, Macon County, North Carolina, USA
Spotted this large, colorful creature one morning on the side of my concrete block shop. He was perched high up, near outside building light; accessible by ladder to photograph. That evening, he had died and was lying on the ground below his original perch. Located in the Cullasaja Valley district in Western North Carolina, Southern Appalachian Mountains.
