Are you confident this is paranthrene pellucida? Through my research it has never been observed in MA.

Keep in mind that this is a very worn specimen. That being said, It is to early for P. marginata to be flying. There is almost no scales on the wings and the wing shape and length indicate this is mostly likely is in the genus Paranthrene. There is only one species that it could be and that is pellucida. It has been collected in Wisconsin, Michigan, New York and Missouri. This family is under collected so their range is not well documented.
