Bruce, I have some Prionus specimens from Madera Canyon that I have been struggling to ID. What character state do you see in this picture that lets you ID this as heroicus as opposed to californicus?

It is a Cerambycid in the Subfamily
Prioninae
.
My guess is the Genus
Prionus
, but wait for confirmation.
