Blue Springtails - Vertagopus arboreus

Blue Springtails - Vertagopus arboreus
Burien, King County, Washington, USA
November 4, 2007
Size: 1-2mm
This was heavily cropped and sharpened in Photoshop. I don't know if it's any help in showing the terminal segments, though.

Moved
Moved from Isotomidae.

It could be Vertagopus arboreus
Given
1. the large mesothorax (= first visible segment following the head)
2. the white legs
3. the blue antennae
4. the lack of any large setae on the body.

In this case, the body should be covered with many fine short setae. And the 5th and 6th abdominal segments should be separated by a suture.
Depending on the lighting conditions an iridisation on the body might be visible.
