Dallas area mystery spider found - Drassyllus

Dallas area mystery spider found - Drassyllus
Keller, Tarant County, Texas, USA
July 12, 2018
Size: 1/4-1/2”
Anxious to learn if this may be what caused a severely painful and swollen bite on my 3 year old.

Moved
Moved from Spiders.

Doubtful
Spiders rarely bite unless provoked. The culprit is usually in the fly or wasp groups.

However, spider bites can produce sting-like responses. I can’t ID your spider due to your image quality, but I can tell it’s not one of the medically significant spiders.
