What kind of wasp is this? - Priocnemis cornica - Female
Dallas, Dallas County, Texas, USA
June 13, 2017
Found on the sidewalk near the Winsted parking lot, White Rock lake, near the spillway. I assume one of the spider wasps? Can you tell gender? And, can you confirm the prey is a thin-legged wolf spider? Wasp got spooked and took off with the prey so I only got the one shot. Fast moving wasp.

Priocnemis cornica
.

Thank you
Didn't think I would get this one to species. A new species for me and looks like first one from Texas for y'all. Win/Win :)

Spider Wasp is correct
It's a female, as males don't take prey or provision nests.

Can't help you with the spider ID, though. :)

Doh!
I should have known that regarding the gender, had a Homer moment. Not sure if this shot is good enough for which spider wasp, I know there are several species. I have had Anoplius depressipes at this lake before but often they never get past genus.
