moth - Bagisara gulnare

moth - Bagisara gulnare
Cross Plains, Dane County, Wisconsin, USA
July 14, 2018
I posted these photos on the FB Mothing site and comments made by Paul John and James Adams are that this moth is Bagisara gulnare. New species for Bugguide. MPG

"That’s the Texas sister species to this one [Bagisara praecelsa]. The one in your area is called Bagisara gulnare. It’s still an exceptional find and a very rare moth."

Note from Les Ferge - "It is good to know that it is still around. Interestingly, the only one I ever found was taken nearby along the railroad between Middleton and Cross Plains on 1 September 1983. Other records are from Green and Rock Counties."
