What kind of flash do you use, and lens & distance from the insect?

I use Canon equipment – an aging but oh so faithful 10D with a 100 mm macro lens and an MR14EX ringlite. I was about 8 inches or less from the little bugger. The images were shot at ISO 200, 1/200 sec at f 13. Unfortunately, my flash will only synchronize to that shutter speed.

that's very useful information. I'm currently looking around for a flash system that'll work with my Nikon D70. So far, I've been working just with good sunlight.
