Silkmoth - Callosamia securifera - male

Silkmoth - Callosamia securifera - Male
Ville Platte/Arboretum, Evangeline Parish, Louisiana, USA
July 14, 2018
Size: 4.5 in

Moved

Callosamia
Given the location (lots of Magnolia virginiana in the Arboretum) and the absence of the median chevron on the HW, I suspect this is probably a male C.securifera.

I agree
I also think this is C. securifera

If I'm not mistaken, Callosamia angulifera?
Males of C. promethea lack the the white chevron on the fore wing, and are even darker, while C. angulifera are lighter and posses the chevron.
