Brown moth with white spots - Lepidomys irrenosa

Brown moth with white spots - Lepidomys irrenosa
Chilton County, Alabama, USA
July 16, 2018
This moth was rusty brown above his PM line and dark pink below. In his AM area, he had a short white angular notch at the costa, a small white dot above that, and two white triangular shapes above that which reminded me of two handkerchiefs hanging from a clothesline. Between the two handkerchiefs, there was a hint of orangish red. In the middle of each forewing he had a short incomplete line, sort of curled up on the outside like an eyelid. His PM line started out bold and white from the costa, below which he remained orangish brown down to the apex, but after a short segment of white his PM changed to black and continued fairly straight to the inner margin. His fringe was pink. The upper sections of his front and mid legs were clumped with pink scales. His legs below were white. ID suggestion (going out on a limb): Lepidomys irrenosa.
