braconid wasp and a chironomid - Charmon extensor
Harvard, Worcester County, Massachusetts, USA
July 6, 2004
These two just bumped into each other, then continued on their seperate ways.

Moved
Moved from Macrocentrus.

Note the lack of a pigmented r-m vein and thicker head.

Moved
Moved from Meteorus.

Macrocentrus?
Shouldn't this be moved to Macrocentrus?

Macrocentrinae
Macrocentrus sp.

Meteorus? (Braconidae: Euphorinae: Meteorini)
It looks to me like a male wasp in the genus Meteorus, though the lower half of the wing is obscured, the petiolate abdomen is characteristic of the Euphoinae and what I can see of the wing venation is similar to the genus Meteorus. Was this taken at a blacklight?

Thanks Andy
This was at the porch light on the side of the house.
