Small, hairy syrphid - Melangyna coei

Small, hairy syrphid - Melangyna coei
Mt Arrowsmith, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada
July 14, 2018
Hairs also just visible on eyes.

Moved
Moved from Syrphid Flies.

Nice, a new species for the guide! Not Leucozona velutina (spots are too yellow and too angled, plus not reaching the abdminal margin on tergite 2); not Melangyna lasiophthalma (hairs on the eye are too long).

Great!
Thanks for tracking this down, Kelsey.
