Fly from leaf mine on Canada thistle - Phytomyza spinaciae

Fly from leaf mine on Canada thistle - Phytomyza spinaciae
Dearborn, Wayne County, Michigan, USA
June 29, 2018
From Canada Thistle, Cirsium arvense. Leaves with fly pupae on undersurface collected 25 June 18, this fly emerged 29 June, the other did not emerge. I had quite a few other mines, but wasps emerged from the rest (see https://bugguide.net/node/view/1560451).

Looks like you managed to get a male!
I'd love to get this one to Owen Lonsdale and see what he has to say about it.

I have specimens
I've kept all the flies that have emerged from C. arvense, muticum, and discolor in 95% ethanol. Shoot me an email (which I think you have) and I can get them to you/Owen/in for DNA barcoding.
