white moth with yellow line - Idaea tacturata

white moth with yellow line - Idaea tacturata
Chilton County, Alabama, USA
July 22, 2018
This was a white moth with all wavy lines. He had a tuft of white scales on his thorax. His basal line was a series of small dots. His yellowish PM line had the widest waves and was the darkest. Between the basal and PM lines, he had three brown dots on each forewing arranged equal distance from each other in a somewhat triangulation fashion. At the AM level, there were two long dashes at the inner margin. He had two ST lines. The first one was punctuated by regularly spaced brown dots and did not continue onto the hindwing. The second ST line was only slightly wavy and did continue onto the hindwing. The terminal line was a series of broad brown dashes. His fringe was white. His forelegs and antennae were very yellow.
