Nifty Grasshopper - Ceuthophilus uhleri - Male
Brookhaven, Lincoln County, Mississippi, USA
November 10, 2007
Size: It was relavtively small.
I found him/her sitting in my friend's garage. It was around midnight, and he was still sitting in the garage the next afternoon when we went outside. I thought he was pretty cool so I decided to snap a photograph. :) I've never seen anything like him before, so if anyone can identify what exactly it is..it'd be much appreciated! Thanks! Keep in mind that I do not actually know if HE is a HE. (just thought i'd make note of that)

Moved from Ceuthophilus.

I think
Cassie is right it is some kind of camel cricket. See info here.

Cassie, no need to put in a full image in your post. Just use thumbnail links with [ thumb:37372 ] without the spaces. That will take you to this image. You can see I got the number from the photo number on top left of the image.

Thanks!
I'm still learning some of the code. I'm happy I got an image link to work!

Camel Cricket?
How's this for a match? Really neat critter! I think I can make out an ovipositor, but I'm not sure, so it might be a girl.

Jerusalem Cricket
I am pretty sure this is "Stenopelmatus fuscus".

Nope
not a Jerusalem Cricket. Here is one... . They all have distint black banding on the back.
