Spider wasp - Tachypompilus ferrugineus - Female
near Lyons, Boulder County, Colorado, USA
July 23, 2018
Licking honeydew from leaves of an ornamental oak tree on a wet afternoon. She was crawling along the edge of the hood on my jacket when I noticed her. Thought she was a beetle at first, so glad I was gingerly reaching up to her and that she was docile.
