Leaf mine and adult look good for A. freemani
(with Phytomya agromyzina mine at right).

Thanks for verifying the ID. I wasn't able to rear out any of the P. agromyzina mines I collected. Might try again next season!

 
While you're looking for those...
keep an eye out for very similar linear mines made by an unknown nepticulid. I've found empty mines in several eastern states, and there are pressed mines from Ontario in the CNC.

 
Let's see...
There were a fair number of mines on those Cornus. I'll collect a good series.
