Unknown bug - Balcanocerus

Unknown bug - Balcanocerus
Springfield, Fairfax County, Virginia, USA

Size: ~2mm
I found this tiny immature bug on a leaf of an apple tree. I'm really clueless as to what this is. Any help identifying is appreciated.

Moved from Cicadoidea.

Balcanocerus nymph
A very young nymph. The narrow waist makes them look like tiny ants.

Hopper nymph
It is for sure a member of the Heteroptera order, and it is something like the family Cicadellidae, so plant hoppers!

bug nymph
is my guess too, but not Cicadellidae, as I think they would have spines along the hind tibiae.
This photo shows lots of detail that would never be captured by your standard off-the-shelf camera; the single small hair projecting from the knee joint on each leg, for example - normally visible only under a microscope, yet possibly a distinguishing character. That's what I like most about close-ups of very tiny bugs: there's so many new things to see.

Tiny bug
I still haven't figured out what this is, but I think I have found even younger instars of this species on the same tree. I will try to post a picture of them soon, though I'll probably have to find an adult before an ID can be made.

As for taking closeups of tiny bugs, I must say that I've been sincerely motivated by your forum post calling for more images of tiny specimens :)

Wow
Really weird looking one! I'm interested to know what this is as well.
