Spiny Larva on Queen Anne's Lace - Papilio polyxenes

Spiny Larva on Queen Anne's Lace - Papilio polyxenes
Junction City, 15 mi. SE, prairie restoration, Geary County, Kansas, USA
July 27, 2018
Size: 1/8-1/4"
This spiny, multi-colored larva was on the underside of a Queen Anne's Lace inflorescence. I was just thinking how few invertebrates were using QAL (a non-native volunteer in these parts) when I spotted this most interesting creature.

Thank you so much for this ID
Thank you so much for this ID! I appreciate your help greatly. The older BST caterpillars look so different. Without your guidance, I never would have guessed this youngster's real identity!
