7 mm solitary wasps, just emerged
Leavenworth, Chelan County, Washington, USA
July 27, 2018
Size: 7 mm
Several (~5 so far) 7 mm wasps emerged today (7/27/18) from 3 mm grapevine stem that had been plugged with mud. Grapevine stem had been intentionally added to native bee house near garden (containing a variety of cavities including reeds, raspberry canes, old sunflower stems, etc.). The stem was so small that I hadn't even known it was capped until several days ago.
