Does any know which of the colony the darker bee is?

I think you mean...
Whether the dark bee is from the same colony as the yellower one? If so, this could indeed be the case, since there is some variation among workers in most Honyebee colonies. This variation can be important in regions where different strains coexist.
Queens mate with several drones, which means that workers of a same colony have different (genetic) "fathers".
