Pachydesmus crassicutis
Somerville, Morgan County, Alabama, USA
July 19, 2018
1st data point for Alabama in the guide.

This is definitely Pachydesmu
This is definitely Pachydesmus crassicutis. Please notice the color and texture/glossyness differences with the apheloriinine you thought might be such a few days ago Jackson

Yes
Yes I know, that's why I posted it in the Pachydesmus crassicutis species page. I was already pretty confident of the species ID, and posted it primarily since it was the first BugGuide data point for Alabama.

I think you might have the wrong person though, as I haven't posted any Apheloriini in recent memory, from Jackson or anywhere else. Although I hope to one day.

But I do appreciate the confirmation for this P. crassicutis - always good to have an expert confirm an ID.
