Grasshopper under UV -
Dichromorpha viridis
-
Beech Bluff, Madison County, Tennessee, USA
July 28, 2018
I'm finding that a lot of grasshoppers glow brightly under UV. Feel free to frass this if you think it doesn't add anything to the guide.

I expect it with the species
I expect it with the species that are yellow or light green but these brown ones surprised me, at least at first. This time of year I'm usually busy during the day so my insect hunting is mostly done at night. Just about everything I've posted recently was spotted with the UV flashlight or was at my moth lights.
