We were thinking this might be
in that Melipotis / Phoberia cluster, but we are reasonably sure that this is Euparthenos nubilis, Owlets, pg 185.

We looked at Acronicta
but the dorsal pattern is the reverse, dark in the center and light on the sides, whereas your post is light in the center and darker along the sides. That's why we looked at Euparthenos

I don't see Acronicta. Looks a lot more like a Zale but I wouldn't care to guess the species.
