What's this? Very small transparent bug - Corythucha ciliata

Size: less than 1/4"

I was up in a sycamore tree, and this thing landed on my arm. Very small and see-through. I snapped a couple shots of it - these were the best I could get. Is it some sort of nymph, or a very small insect I don't know about?

A lace bug expert visits from time to time.

She'll probably want to know whether your bug was alone or part of a colony. For future sightings, try to get a side view showing the hood in profile. My best guess is that Lynette has nailed the ID. (Your reference to the sycamore was a major help.)

BTW, in what month was the photo taken?

Don't know if it was in a colony or not, it just landed on my arm out of nowhere while I was about 20 feet up in the tree.
