Black Catepillar - Hypercompe scribonia

Size: Between 1 and 2 inches
We found a black caterpillar that we could not identify. The closest we got was the woolly bear, but it has no brown/orange stripe. Also it has narrow red vertical bands that we didn't see anywhere else. There are green frass balls next to it. We found it outside under our recycling can.
