Colorful Cricket - Gryllus - female

Colorful Cricket - Gryllus - Female
Cass County, Texas, USA
August 24, 2007
Size: 25 mm
I never realized how colorful crickets can be.

Colorful because different
This female cricket belongs indeed to subfamily Gryllinae, just like Acheta domesticus, but this is a different species for sure.
If nothing else, tegmina (modified forewings) are way too short, let alone hindwings who should make like a second "tail" when folded (compare, with, e.g. picture nr 31230 by Robin McLeod).

Thanks
Once again I have mis-identified an image and do not know how to correct it. I apparently need to research Identifications better and I also need to better understand how to use the site. I apologize for my mistakes.
