Syrphid fly - Exoprosopa fasciata

Syrphid fly - Exoprosopa fasciata
Spring Green Preserve, Sauk County, Wisconsin, USA
August 3, 2018
Saw two of these together along the sandy trail at Spring Green Preserve near Spring Green, Wisconsin. They were very large for flies and looked like some kind of bee, so probably a syrphid fly, but not sure what species. Any assistance would be appreciated.
