At UV light in suburban yard around 11pm, a single specimen and missing a lot of wing scales. Several photos on BG (and MPG) but only one here from CA (Los Angeles) and the 2 shown in CA on the MPG map are north of San Diego. It was a peculiar looking moth to see and took me awhile to ID it.
