Mystery Beetle - Sandalus petrophya

Mystery Beetle - Sandalus petrophya
Forsyth County, North Carolina, USA
June 20, 2018
Size: 12mm
Found on a Virginia pine bark.
I'd really like to know what family this beetle is from. It has got a lot of elements which, at a cursory glance, suggest a lot of different things. The mandibles look similar to something I saw on a carrion beetle, the posture is like a deathwatch beetle, the flabellate antennae like a rare-click beetle, etc.
